چکیده
Introduction: One of the most common chronic complications diabetes mellitus is diabetic neuropathy. The aim study was to elucidate association between selected markers oxidative stress and vascular stiffness contribute understanding pathophysiological links micro- macrovascular diabetes. Methods: We enrolled patients with type 2 DM (n = 49), moderate severe polyneuropathy lower extremities, a control group without microvascular 29). neuropathy received alpha-lipoic acid infusion therapy. Sampling performed before after treatment determine level (advanced glycation end-products—AGEs, products AOPP proteins, MDA malondialdehyde oxidized LDL), parameters metabolic wall were measured by sphygmomanometry. Results: After administration acid, we demonstrated significant reduction in three oxidation (AOPP: p < 0.001, AGE: oxLDL: 0.05). In contrast, did not change significantly (p 0.83). Throughout group, oxLDL correlated central BP (SBP DBP aorta, 0.05 <0.01) augmentation index (AiX/75 bpm, 0.01). systolic aorta find associations remaining markers. Conclusion: our study, also an damage lipids proteins (oxLDL AOPP) some stiffness.

BACKGROUND Diabetes mellitus (DM) is known to induce oxidative stress along with deranging various metabolisms; one of the late complications of diabetes mellitus is diabetic retinopathy, which is a leading cause of acquired blindness. Poor glycemic control and oxidative stress have been attributed to the development of complications like diabetic retinopathy. The aim of this study was to analy...

Background and purpose: Considering the pathologic importance of oxidative stress in osteoarthritis (OA), this study aimed to investigate the association between dietary total antioxidant capacity (DTAC) and oxidative stress markers in patients with knee OA. Materials and methods: In a cross-sectional study, dietary intakes of 152 patients with knee OA attending health centers in Zabol, Iran (...
